No Bake Energy Balls

Okay new recipe that is Gregory and Kirk approved! INGREDIENTS topping 1/4  cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional) 1  teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder 1  teaspoon date sugar balls 1/2  cup old-fashioned rolled oats (whole grain) 4  Medjool dates, pitted 2 tablespoons unsweetened  almond butter 1  teaspoons pure vanilla extract 1/4  teaspoon salt 2  tablespoons water mix-ins - can use some or all 1/8  cup sliced, toasted almonds, chopped 1/8  of large (100 gram) unsweetened chocolate bar, chopped 1/8  cup old-fashioned rolled oats INSTRUCTIONS Put dates in bowl of warm water and set aside. Place the shredded coconut in a shallow bowl, mix with date sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder and set aside. Dessert Recipes Healthy "brownies"  - easy to scale - this fills 3 silicone cupcake holders 1 ripe banana 1 Tablespoon Almond Butter ( no   added   sugar ) 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa 1 teaspoon vanilla Mash banana and then mix the rest in. Pour into 3 spayed silicon cupcake holders (or regular cupcake holders).  Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. You can lick the bowl, it is so good. Other ideas - shave unsweetened chocolate bar and put a few slivers of chocolate in it. Add some small pieces of dates. Sweet Potato Hash ingredients: 1 small sweet potato, diced 1/2 sweet onion, diced 1/2 jalapeno, seeded and diced 1-2 eggs olive oil spray salt, pepper to taste instructions: Saute sweet potato in a pan w/ olive oil spray. Cook until starting to get browned. Add  in a diced sweet onion and diced jalapeno. Continue to saute until onion is soft and everything looks browned. Then make a few holes in the hash, spray and crack an egg into each hole (can put in 1-2 eggs). Cover pan and cook for 3 minutes for a slightly runny egg. Longer if you don't like it runny. Salt and pepper to taste. No Added Sugar Diet

On September 5, 2019, I decided to try the 30 day no added sugar diet. Here are the rules that I set out for myself for the first 30 days and beyond. Why cut out added sugars?  Here is a recent  NY Times article  on the many health benefits to cutting out added sugar. This quote - " The more sugar you eat, the faster you age” - is enough to motivate me! First 30 days - strive for  no   added   sugar  (check labels for ingredients and  sugar  content because even if it says 0g,  sugar  can still be an ingredient),  no  artificial  sugar, whole grains only. Basically giving up simple carbs.  Rule 1: Natural Sugars (fruit) only. This means no  added   sugar like  corn syrup, honey, agave, syrup, etc. Here is a list of the many name names for sugars...
